Sarah Ahn   LSW

Mental Health Professionals

I am an experienced and empathic licensed social worker and psychotherapist working with children, teens, parents, and adults. My areas of emphasis include: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, career changes/life transitions, sensory processing disorder, highly sensitive, gifted, and twice exceptional populations. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches with a focus on building an attuned, supportive, and trusting relationship with my clients. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, neuroscience, and attachment based parenting. I have over 15 years of experience in the field of coaching and counseling with a particular passion for helping children, parents, and adults who are "highly sensitive" emotionally and/or who have sensory processing challenges. I also specialize in working with adults, teens, and children with anxiety with a focus on helping clients develop a "toolkit" of coping strategies that they can use when they feel emotionally dysregulated. As a parent myself I can relate to the unique challenges associated with parenting and I focus my parent coaching on achievable and actionable steps that can create real shifts within the family dynamic. I spent the first 15 years of my working career as a marketing professional in the business world so I believe that I bring a unique blend of both cognitive as well as emotional solutions to my clients. I also enjoy working with men and women who are contemplating various life changes such as career or life transitions. My focus is on helping my clients achieve real transformations within their lives. As research has shown, over 60% of the value of therapy is dependent on the strength of the therapeutic alliance between the therapist and the client. I invite you to contact me to see if we could be a good fit for each other.
