My treatment philosophy is founded on an attitude of genuine acceptance and empathy and the belief that people are resilient and thrive on satisfying interpersonal relationships. My experience and education uniquely qualifies me to draw from a wide range of theoretical perspectives and implement the treatment techniques that work best for each client.
My passion and expertise include the following areas:
• I help women in pain to experience greater fulfillment and joy in life by working together toward an enhanced understanding of their thoughts, feelings, experiences, behaviors and relationships.
• I help parents and their young children experiencing distressing feelings and behaviors to build greater security and confidence by working to help enhance both the parent’s and child’s understanding of their thoughts, feelings, experiences, behaviors and relationship(s). I feel strongly that our earliest relationships (secure and satisfying caregiving relationships) inform and promote the development of secure and satisfying relationships throughout our lives.
• I have specialized training in the area of Infant, Early Childhood and Perinatal Mental Health. I help women during the perinatal period (during pregnancy and through the first year after birth) with depression and anxiety, transition, and pregnancy/newborn loss. Support during this period helps to promote the well-being of mothers, babies and families.
