Mental Health Professionals

Ahava Counseling, LLC.

Ahava is the Hebrew word for love. In offering my services, my goal is to allow you and your loved ones to find the ultimate love for yourself and the world around you.

With over 7 years of experience working with youth and families, I value the place of resiliency, trust and hope in a therapeutic relationship. Working in residential treatment centers and intensive outpatient programs, I now specialize in working with children between the ages of 9-17 and their families. I have extensive experience working with abused and traumatized youth as well as children with persistent mental health challenges. I believe that the systems including family, school, peers, etc. that are involved in a child’s life contribute immensely to their feelings and corresponding behaviors. Even more so, the importance of healing the child throughout the myriad of these environments is the most effective way to achieve desired and lasting change. I operate on a strengths perspective and believe every soul is destined for their own identified greatness, and I am here as an avenue to help you arrive there!

I am a licensed clinical social worker and a registered trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapist. I specialize in treatment for children experiencing: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depressive Disorders, Bi-Polar/Mood Disorders.

Knowing that there is no one size fits all model, there are various evidenced based models that I employ which include but are not limited to: synergetic play therapy, emotion-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, structural family therapy, exposure therapy, narrative therapy, brief solution focused therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification methods and parent skills training.

I look forward to taking this journey with you!
