Are you struggling to cope with overwhelming feelings and stressors? Are you lonely in your relationship, having the same argument over and over with your partner leaving you both angry and hurt? Do you long for the intimacy and closeness you once had but can’t seem to get back to?
When we are sad or anxious it interferes with our relationships, our careers, our parenting and our self-esteem. And when our relationship is in trouble, it brings fear, pain and despair, interfering with the intimacy and connection with our partners. If you are longing to feel better about yourself and your relationship, I am here to help. We will identify the negative cycle you get stuck in and put an end to it.
Using the approach of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help couples get to the root of their distress and restore their connection to each other. We work deeply to heal old wounds, understand underlying wants and needs, reduce conflict and learn new strategies for communication and intimacy.
In my work with individuals, I challenge old, limiting belief systems as we journey through pain and disappointment into self-discovery and reconnection to a life that you love. As we work together you will reconnect with your innate wisdom and strength and forge new ways of being in the world that allow for greater freedom, presence and wholeness.
My approach is eclectic, incorporating psychodynamic, CBT, and mindfulness training. I am trained in DBT and have witnessed tremendous growth leading DBT skills groups. With couples I use Emotionally Focused Therapy, an evidenced-based model developed by Sue Johnson, author or "Hold me Tight".
My style is warm and curious. I believe that healing comes from connection, that laughter is good medicine. Using your inherent strengths, we will identify goals that are both practical and transformational. I offer you a sacred space to grow and stretch and my partnership on the journey.
