I am comfortable sharing my own life experiences when I believe it will benefit my clients and I believe that my broad set of life experiences compliments my professional training to support you in your work. I am the father of three children (a son and twin daughters) who are currently attending college. I have been a lifelong athlete participating in various sports including lacrosse, triathlon, soccer and am a currently at Category II mountain biker. I have recently returned to Colorado to live after having been in Austin, Texas for 20 years. I received my M.S.S.W from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995 and my B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1990. Being multi-ethnic, speaking Spanish and French and having lived in various regions of the country, I am comfortable with a diverse array of clients and look forward to learning from you and about your experiences.
My primary treatment approaches are based upon psychodynamic, family systems and cognitive behavioral schools of thought. I am experienced in utilizing EMDR and completed the Level II EMDR training. I also have training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.
