Lauren Hill-Shirk received her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Capella University, graduating with distinction. She currently is practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate and as a Registered Psychotherapist in the state of Colorado. Lauren is also a member in good standing of the Chi Upsilon Chi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in the field of counseling. Lauren Hill-Shirk has professional experience working with/treating the following: eating disorders, depression, rare health disorders, low income families, enuresis, conduct disorders in children/adolescents, parent coaching, family reintegration, post-traumatic stress, sexual trauma, Aspersers, relationship distress, blended families, foster care, same-sex relationships, addictions, domestic violence, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, infidelity, grief, marital distress, communication problems, and more. Lauren Hill-Shirk also has 8 months of non-professional experience as a volunteer for Walter Reed Army Medical Center, working with wounded soldiers and their families. Lauren has experience with combat related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and helping families of soldiers develop coping skills.
